Sanding
We sand commercial, residential and new construction houses and businesses as well as decks and porches.
We recommend that pregnant women, small children and pets not be in the house during the sanding process. Anyone with asthma, allergies or respiratory problems should also take caution in staying while we are sanding and finishing the floors.
We use bagged machines with a vacuum system but there will still be a minimal amount of dust. In residential homes and businesses we hang plastic to keep the dust contained to the area we are working in. In all houses and businesses we vacuum the baseboards and vacuum out the vents after we sand or buff the floors.
It will take us three to five days (including staining and finishing) to complete 200 to 1,000 feet of flooring depending on the stain color you chose. If you chose not to stain your floor the process will be much quicker. Darker stain colors require additional work and longer drying times. 1,000 feet or more will take at least five day to complete.
After the first coat of finish is dry is when we will install your shoe molding, strips and reducers. They will be stained to match your floor before they are installed. After that we will buff the floors and apply the second coat. The floors, baseboards and vents are always thoroughly vacuumed between coats.
You can wait to have your third and final coat applied if you need to have painting or other services performed to your house. You can schedule your last coat at a later time. When you are ready for the final coat we will buff and vacuum your floors one last time and apply the final coat of finish in your choice of sheen to your floors, shoe molding, strips and reducers.
